Be An Advocate
As a patient-led organization, ARC has firsthand knowledge of how amyloidosis affects our community. But our advocates aren’t just patients – they are also family members, caregivers and healthcare professionals who want to join ARC to make sure their voices are heard loud and clear.
This is your opportunity to join us and help us raise awareness! Our collective voices are powerful. By helping key stakeholders understand what is important to those who have experienced amyloidosis personally, we can help shape the decisions being made. ARC works closely with policy makers and federal funders to ensure that the needs of both amyloidosis patients as well as future research are being met. Throughout the year, we provide our patient advocates with the opportunity to join the ARC team in representing amyloidosis patients and their unmet needs in many forums. This is a role we see as vitally important and one we take great pride in.
These meetings vary from small closed-door meetings with policy makers, to speaking engagements at large public meetings. Whether you join us during Rare Disease Week on Capitol Hill, attend an in-district meeting with your representatives, or simply add your voice to a petition supporting policy that will benefit patients, you’ll be helping us inform decision-makers and educate and create awareness for amyloidosis.
There are many ways to get involved in advocacy.
