In this ARC TALKS webinar, Amyloidosis cardiologist Dr. Kevin Alexander, will describe how Amyloidosis affects the heart. Dr. Alexander will also discuss the cardiac signs and symptoms to recognize, treatment and management options for each type ofAmyloidosis, in addition to discussing ongoing research in the field.
Dr. Alexander is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist, and a member of the Stanford Amyloid Center. Dr. Alexander’s clinical and research interests include cardiac amyloidosis, heart failure, and heart transplantation. His primary interest lies in cardiac amyloidosis, with a particular interest in unraveling the molecular determinants of transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy to improve diagnosis and treatment. He has co-authored many publications on cardiac amyloidosis and has received research grants from the National Institutes of Health and American Heart Association.
