Solving the Maze of Amyloidosis
We are dismantling the maze of barriers preventing breakthroughs in earlier diagnoses, effective treatments, and a cure for amyloidosis.
We must dismantle the maze.
Imagine navigating a labyrinth where every turn is a challenge, every decision is critical, and every step forward feels uncertain. This is the daily reality for those facing amyloidosis — a rare and complex disease that presents enormous obstacles not only in diagnosis but in finding effective treatments.
For many, the journey to a correct diagnosis is a daunting one, often requiring visits to multiple doctors. Once diagnosed, patients and their families confront a maze of medical jargon, incomplete explanations, and a daunting array of choices and challenges.
Despite significant strides, many patients still face limited options. Drug development is often hampered by fragmented information, lack of collaboration, and slow approval processes. The path forward remains obstructed by a complex web of barriers.
At the Amyloidosis Research Consortium (ARC), we are dedicated to dismantling these barriers. ARC is transforming the landscape of amyloidosis research & care by uniting diverse stakeholders: doctors, scientists, patients, caregivers, and biopharma partners.
Our mission is to streamline and accelerate research, speed the development of breakthrough treatments, and guide patients and caregivers through the challenges of this disease. ARC has grown to become the largest non-profit organization solely focused on amyloidosis, playing a crucial role in advancing research and providing support. Since our founding, seven new drugs have been approved for amyloidosis patients.
Our landmark programs include the Amyloidosis Forum that brings together leading experts to address obstacles in drug development, a global data-sharing initiative to accelerate research, and the MAP Pathfinder Tool — an online portal that connects patients with relevant studies and clinical trials. We also prioritize education to improve diagnostic speed and accuracy, and offer trained support to help patients and caregivers navigate the complexities of the disease.
We invite you to join us in this critical mission. Your support is essential to continuing our work driving the fight against amyloidosis. By contributing to ARC, you are not only advancing groundbreaking research but also providing hope to countless individuals and families.
“ARC plays an essential role in advocating for rapid expansion of new therapies for patients and working collabortively with experts across the spectrum of the disease.”
