Eligibility Criteria and Funding
The ARC Fellowship Program is open to established amyloidosis centers in the United States to support the training of promising MD fellowship applicants. Fellow should be 75% clinical practice and 25% research focused.
ARC will award up to eight one-year fellowships for a maximum of $120,000 each for fellow support. Each fellow will be awarded an additional sum to participate in at least two training opportunities (conferences, coursework, etc.). No indirect or overhead costs may be claimed.
ARC will also seek opportunities for fellows to network at key meetings/conferences, as well as participating in the annual Amyloidosis Forum.
ARC provides funding directly to qualified centers which then identify the most competitive fellowship candidates. Once fellowship candidates are selected, their credentials will be submitted to ARC for final review and approval. Funding will be released once the fellow has been approved by ARC’s review committee. The fellow selected by the mentor must hold an MD, DO or equivalent degree, be licensed to practice medicine in the U.S. and plan on practicing medicine in the U.S. following the fellowship. Fellows must be newly selected and not previously enrolled in similar programs.
Individual fellows are not eligible for this funding but are encouraged to inform institutions about this opportunity.

Amyloidosis center applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Academic institution with established amyloidosis expertise and fellowship program, capable of providing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary training experience
- Demonstrated excellence in amyloidosis care and research with multidisciplinary team capabilities
- A dedicated mentor who is actively involved in the training program
- Commitment to support a fellow with the necessary resources and opportunities for a comprehensive training experience
- Leadership in promoting and integrating an equitable and diverse environment for clinical care, research and education through training opportunities for the fellow
- Competence in delivering care that addresses the holistic needs of patients affected by amyloidosis
An external review panel and ARC staff will evaluate applications based on the overall quality of the fellowship program, including the effectiveness of training, mentorship and achievement of learning objectives.
Fellows and their mentors are required to provide a quarterly report of the fellowship training experience and a financial report of expenditures. An overall year-end report will be due 30 days after the completion of the training program.
Reporting forms will be provided by ARC.
