ARC Clinical Fellowship 2027
Building the next generation of amyloidosis physicians.
The Amyloidosis Research Consortium’s Clinical Fellowship program supports the education and development of future amyloidosis specialists with the aim of growing the base of clinicians who can provide expert care and lead scientific advances. The program funds academic centers in the U.S. to train a new amyloidosis clinician-researcher over a one-year period.
The program will enhance the ability of the trainee to integrate multidisciplinary collaboration, build advanced expertise, promote health equity, and foster innovation in the diagnosis and management of amyloidosis.

This activity is supported by an independent educational grant from AstraZeneca and Ionis Pharmaceuticals.
Eligibility Criteria and Funding
The program grants funding directly to amyloidosis centers who will then identify and train an amyloidosis clinician-researcher over a one-year period. Fellows must be newly selected and not previously enrolled in similar programs. This funding will cover the fellow’s stipend. Additional funding will be available for educational opportunities (conference participation, coursework, and other training opportunities). No indirect or overhead costs may be claimed.
ARC will award two one-year fellowships for a maximum of $127,000 each. Funds will cover the fellow’s stipend. Each fellow will receive additional funding to support relevant educational and training opportunities. No indirect or overhead costs may be claimed for this award.

Amyloidosis center applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Academic institution with established amyloidosis expertise and fellowship program, capable of providing a comprehensive training experience
- Demonstrated excellence in amyloidosis care and research with multidisciplinary team capabilities
- Centers must have a dedicated mentor and co-mentor
- Commitment to support a fellow with the necessary resources and opportunities for a comprehensive training experience
- Leadership in promoting and integrating an equitable and diverse environment for clinical care, research and education through training opportunities for the fellow
- Competence in delivering care that addresses the holistic needs of patients affected by amyloidosis
An external review panel and ARC staff will evaluate applications based on the overall quality of the fellowship program, including the effectiveness of training, mentorship and achievement of learning objectives.
Mentors will submit quarterly progress reports and one annual report and budget.

- Using the narrative template provided, please give a brief description of the training opportunities available at your center, both in clinical care and research.
- Include the following attachments along with the narrative template:
- Biographical sketch of the mentor/co-mentor
- Letter(s) of reference from department chair or other institutional leadership. Letter(s) of support from other multi-disciplinary team members are encouraged but not required
- Completed budget template (salary, benefits, educational opportunities, etc.)
- Graphics/table outlining clinical care rotation and research opportunity requirements
All applications will be treated confidentially and reviewed by ARC staff and external peer reviewers to determine fit with fellowship goals.
Academic centers in the U.S. with established amyloidosis expertise and fellowship program with multidisciplinary team capabilities, including but not limited to cardiology, hematology and neurology. Centers must have a dedicated mentor.
Individual fellows are not eligible for this funding but are encouraged to inform institutions about this opportunity.
The fellow selected by the mentor must hold an MD, DO or equivalent degree, be licensed to practice medicine in the United States and plan on practicing medicine in the U.S. following the fellowship.
US citizenship is not required either for mentors or fellows. Both the mentor and the fellow must be licensed to practice medicine in the U.S.
This fellowship will be open to physicians that have completed or will be completing a residency in neurology, fellowship in Cardiology, Hematology-Oncology, or Nephrology.

Two academic centers in the U.S. will be selected based on the review criteria listed below. ARC will not award funding to more than one fellow per academic center.
